While it is impressive to see large-scale companies or major brands dominating the market these days, it hasn't always been rainbows and butterflies when they started their endeavor. In fact, most industry titans nowadays began just like any other business around―as startups. In line with this, the IT-BPM Roadmap 2022 identified SMEs and Startups as one key area of focus in achieving the industry goals of 2022. IBPAP (IT and Business Process Association Philippines), with full support from DTSI (Diversified Technology Solutions International Inc.), organized the “Takeoff,” to give these companies a bigger access to market.
Last February 23, 2018, the first “Takeoff” event was held at DTSI Group's office in Makati City, where CEOs of the selected ten startup companies made their pitch to IBPAP members inside and outside the IT-BPM industry. These companies were earlier chosen by a selection committee based on the following criteria: uniqueness, innovation, scalability, marketability, and relevance to business. The first ten selection are the following: AIDE, MedGrocer, MedProjects Inc., Kalibrr, Rumarocket, Sprout Solutions, Trip Club, InteliQas, Avail. At, and CloudSwyft Global Systems.
Nix Nolledo, IBPAP board trustee and Xurpas founder and CEO, expressed his support to the startup visionaries by encouraging all those who have attended the event to hear what the aspiring industry leaders have to say.
The startups made use of this opportunity to pitch to interested business owners who seek better alternatives, upgrades, and resolution to their current business challenges. The discussions covered a variety of topics on medical, human resource, travel, electricity distribution, loyalty program, and information technology, which proved to be promising and relevant to businesses across different industries.
DTSI, having its own share of humble beginnings, shares the same excitement on the startups’ growth potential in existing and new areas of business process management and support industries. As what DTSI Group President and CEO, Miguel Garcia, always imparts: Twenty years ago, we began as a technology startup company with only five employees. And now, as a pioneer of the IT-BPO industry, we continuously challenge ourselves to constantly innovate. In doing so, we will continue to grow our markets, enable enterprises, and provide for an environment that supports job creation.”
