A business’ success is not only measured by how seamless its operations and processes are nor by how much profit it earns. It is also gauged by how well it cares for the communities that surround it, including our very own environment. Last October of 2017, DTSI Group was recognized by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) as an eco-friendly workplace and was awarded with a gold certification under the LEED 2009 Commercial Interiors rating system. Its office fit-out design acquired a total of 77 points and was evaluated as a showcase example of sustainability.
USGBC is a private non-profit organization that promotes flexibility, sustainability, and value in building design and construction through an extensive building rating system called LEED or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. Qualifying in the LEED certification program is a valuable achievement as it is a globally recognized symbol of sustainability, especially to DTSI Group whose services include facility and fit-out solutions. Passing LEED goes to show that a corporation is not only efficient in delivering its services but is also capable of maintaining or upholding the standards of a clean, healthy, and highly efficient workplace.
With its vision of transforming every office into “The Workplace of The Future,” DTSI Group started the kind of evolution it desires within its four corners. Based on the assessment made, it showed that the DTSI Group office’s location is accessible via alternative means of transportation such as jeepneys and buses. DTSI Group demonstrated eco-friendliness by having enough number of bicycle storage, as well. Aside from the parking spaces and available routes, it has also been proven that the office practices water reduction as potable water use was decreased by 39.09% from the calculated baseline design. Other commendable qualities of the DTSI Group office include its optimized energy performance as it allows sufficient amount of daylight to penetrate its interior, minimal indoor chemicals and pollutants, and efficient use of space among many others.
DTSI Group treasures the thought that in order to change the ideal workplace not just in the country but also around the world, it must first demonstrate in itself how such aspiration can be accomplished. Today, it continues to encourage not just its employees but also its clients, partners, and the communities surrounding it to be environmental friendly by integrating such concepts to its products and designs.
